Rated R vs. Graffiti ...
9:24 AM
Fact I'm done hating on Chris after hearing this album
Oppinion These two albums should be nominated for album of the year or something (&thenrihannashouldwinlol)

I figure by now (since Christmas is over) everyone should have thier copy of Graffiti and of Rated R. two truly, truly AMAZING albums if you ask me. My praises go out to the writers and producers on these albums because these are deff chart toppers.
So let's talk about the Good Girl Gone Badass
hehe. What I love about this album is that you're introduced to Rihanna in only a way she herself can reveal. The style hit before the singles, so ofcourse (like with the release of Umbrella and it's promo) everyone is like "Wtf is up with her hair? What is this look? Has she gone mad?!" Well, welcome to the mad house! There is no great genius without an element of madness. But back to the CD! Lol
If there were any doubts, about this being Rihanna* rather than a label front [Label Front : an image or style created to market an artist] - just check the credits. Not only did she write on about 6 of her 13 tracks (rough estimate, it's late and my CD is in the living room); she was also executive producer. If this album was a fruit, it would be a plum. That tangy, soury surface leading you to something sweet right after. Because that's her personality, that's Rihanna. A sentimental badass.
Favorites? G4L. Rude Boy. Firebomb. Hard. Stupid in Love.
*I honestly love all the songs on her album. Picking just 5 faves was hard!
&now onto Graffiti.
Another genius "comeback" album. Clearly the label knew exactly how to approach it, and Chris knew exactly how to deliver. One of the key things to marketing in the industry is to (ultimately) make sure you appeal to all if not most genres. All your songs don't have to be an international hit. However, if you can give everybody - pop, urban, dance, reggae - a taste of your music; you're sure to go platnium!
Honestly, the music on here is heart warming. Like I give Chris sooo much props for the delivery and emotion through (most of) the songs. Which is another key thing- picking the right writers. Although Chris doesn't have much writing credits on the album, you can tell his feelings were clearly communicated in the lyrics (Especially in the bonus track titled Graffiti) so you feel him and you get where he's coming from. Even on a song like "Gotta Be Your Man" (which he had writing cred on) where the lyrics are trashhhhhh, I can't help but love it. It's got the perfect formula for a good song which includes a catchy hook. So great job kid!
Favorites : I'll Go. Girlfriend ft. Lupe Fiasco. Lucky Me. What I Do. So Cold.
-----

From a personal viewpoint, I'd say Rihanna's album is favored more. (7/10 prefer Rated R over Graffiti) I think it's mainly because her album is HER, vs Chris's album feeling like it's not his. But you have to understand, he basically has to start over (as his album promo commercial states). Which means the label will market him as appropriate, to put him back on top. & I say they're doing a fabulous job!

From a marketing point of view, Chris has definitely got Rihanna beat. And i think it's because the world sympathizes with him AND he appeals to all genres. I mean- he's even got a reggae song! Accent and all lol.
If you haven't already (you're lame); get your copies today!

Endless Possibilities

Fact:// reading over my blogs always seems to cure any difficulties I deal with. Is that odd?

It's been forever! I know. Unfortunately- I no longer had my itouch (RIP] & my mom just doesn't believe kids like me need a way of connect with you earthlings! -_- go figure. However, thanks to kenyatta, I'm back on track! Which means blogging!!! So yay
The two books above are (thus far) the two most important books in my life. Allow me to introduce you to them....
Has anyone ever seen the last holiday? Starring Queen Latifa? Well in the movie, she had a book. Her posibilities book. "That could happen, but just haven't" - A beautiful concept if you ask me. Well n the movie, she discovers she's going to die in like a month. Sad right? So she decides to (basically) turn all her posibilities into a reality before she has to pass away.
The book with the tiger on it is my posibilities scrap book. I love it to death. As we get older, from a child to a young adult, our dreams and desires get bigger and better. However, it seems as we get older from a young adult to an adult- we lose sight of these dreams. I think no matter how serious, silly, big or small; ultimately we have the power to make our dreams come true and reach the goals set for ourselves. (except for getting a dragon. I don't see me getting one anytime soon
)
But keeping a dream alive is the very first step to making it come true. I don't want to grow old and be 78, with nothing to do but recall things I shoulda, coulda, woulda- but didn't do. I want to be 88 & saying "Bungee jumping is the last thing in my book left to do! So it's ok if I get a heart attack and die from it" lol.
The second book was my early
Christmas gift from yatta! *RANDOM* I like adding these emojicons to my writing hehe. This is called the Big Book of Staff Paper. I caught a musical orgasm when I saw it yo! 500+ pages. Of blank staff paper. Just waiting for my creativity to come loose! Man oh man lol. My eyes were all wide and stuff, amazed as I flipped through the blank pages and imagined if filled with pieces of me.
I discovered my vocal range is a whole 3 octaves and like 4 notes :) (there's 13 notes in each octave if yu include the black keys so I'm hype) last year, I was like close to two octaves. So I'm very very impressed with my growth! Especially since in my posibilities book, I said I wanted to reach 4 octaves hopefully before I graduate HS. Like 6 months left, think I can do it?!

College Personal Essay 1 .
Looking in the mirror, the first thing I hear is, “Saika, how did you get so beautiful?” The first time my good friend Veronika asked me that, I smiled before I replied thoughtlessly. “I think I got filled with so much inner beauty- that the rest of it kinda spilled over into outer beauty.” Without a doubt, most people examine a person’s exterior before [if ever] attempting to glance within. So let’s examine my exterior… I have short hair. Like shorter than average. But what exactly is average? Well, society says “Long flowing hair is Beautiful.” I say, "Who cares what society considers Beautiful?" In December of 2008 (December 4th to be exact) I guess I asked society to categorize me as Indifferent. It’s funny; I cut my hair on a Thursday. So imagine Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; “Long hair, don’t care.” Then bam! Friday I come to school “Bald headed.” I wasn’t really bald, but that’s what all my friends (Kenyatta!!) tell me now. “You’re bald.” But I’m not Bald, I’m Bold. Haha.
I’m short. (This is funny. I’m seeing a “short” pattern.) But yeah, some might consider me height challenged. I believe that on my 18th birthday- Jesus. Yes, Jesus himself is going to bless me with some height. I mean really, I don’t consider myself short. I’m short by society’s standards. However, I could stand next to Bigfoot, and be a giant. Bigfoot hides from the world. I’m a little person with a BIG personality. I stand tall no matter where life takes me. Bigfoot’s a tall guy, but with a little personality.
I wear makeup. This more than often brings up concerns as to how I may view myself. “You don’t need makeup!” I do. Not for the reasons people may believe though. See me; I’m an artist. You may see my eyes flowing with combinations of blue, gold, and purple. My smile accented by a rosy blush. Lips flavored a neutral sparkle. With a face that is radiating a glistening bronze. I don’t think I’m ugly. I am not trying to hide my natural beauty. As I’ve stated before, I am an artist. I wake up every morning to a bare canvas. Almost instantly, I feel the need to create. Creativity feeds my soul. So yes, I do need makeup. Without this form of expression, a bit of my soul dies each day.
I take about 10-15 minutes on my eyes almost every day. I’m very precise with my painting. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. My eyes are in fact the most beautiful feature of the package designed to be me. They grant access to a magnificent universe, lead way to a beautiful heart. I love looking into my eyes. For a long period of time, I would wear contacts. I went through this phase believing that my eyes would be more beautiful if they were a lighter color. Then one day, before I fell slave to routine of putting in the contacts, I looked into my eyes.
They are huge, and almond shaped. These eyes demand your attention. In my lifetime, very few have been able to hold my gaze for long. See, these eyes can effortlessly hold you prisoner. You’re the lost boys trapped on Captain Hook’s boat. In one look, these eyes can see things you’d never want to see. These eyes invite you to be the best you. They invite you to open up. Trust that they may be the light to guide you out of whatever darkness that holds you captive.
Let me briefly open my eyes and show you something. Here’s a secret though; literally my eyes are always open. Symbolically they are closed. Rarely do I ever show you my full potential. Admiring what I see in the mirror, I’ve convinced myself to open my eyes and unlock the gate to my soul. Welcome….
I aspire to be something great; along the lines of Quincy Jones times 17.
After receiving my bachelors in Music Business, I look forward to earning my masters in Entertainment Management or in Music.
Yes, I give a lot of beauty pageant answers and I’m rooting for world peace.
Ten years from now, your children’s children- and their grandchildren will be saying, “I want to be like Saika!”
Volunteering, teaching music at my local Boys and Girls Club has inspired me plan out the opening of MusicGeek Universe; a center that will nourish the creative and musical needs of children in New York City. In about 3 years, I’ll be feeding the artistic souls in different branches of the world.
I can’t believe puppies grow old and die, and I don’t purposely answer every question as if I’m in an interview. It just happens that way.
I plan to defy the standards set for men and open doors for female producers, CEO’s, A&R reps, presidents of labels, COMPOSERS, and so much more. It’s my duty to do more than recreate the industry.
I’m going to dominate it.
And just know-
You empower me when you tell me that I “cant.”
Yes, I can.
